| (Photo by Martha Hall) It 's not always a walk in the sunshine for the Kennys. This was a cold Kentucky rain in downtown Paducah . To help them get out of the storm, the city put them up that night at the Excutive Suites Hotel. Patricia - "We are humbled daily by the kindness of strangers." |

| During their first winter on the road(2001-02) Bud and Della worked for the local carriage company in Madison, Indiana. For 7 years Bud owned a similar business in Hot Springs, AR. Patricia worked that winter as a waitress. |

| Winter 2002-03 began with Bud picking apples at Watt's Fruit Farm near Albion, NY in the northwest part of the state. Of the 30 pickers, he was the only American in the orchards. They called him "Loco Gringo" Patricia packed apples in the market. This photo is of Bud's last day picking. |

| During the winter 2002-03 the Kenny's remodled the inside of the Harding House which was built in 1832 . They also took care of the winter chores on the farm. This was the snowiest winter in Albion,NY history. Bud found this sleigh laying in pieces in a trash pile. He restored it so Della could go dashing through the snow. |

| Patricia - "It's always all about Della. Everything we do centers around her well-being. Where we spend the night, where we stop for lunch, where we spend the winters, it all depends on how we can accomidate her. Della is the heart and motor of our journey.
